Onerahi is a harbourside suburb on a peninsula south-east of Whangārei city, about 15 minutes from the CBD and home to Whangārei Airport. It's an established suburb with its own shops, primary schooling and a long waterfront, and it's on the way out to Parua Bay and the Whangārei Heads. Bare sections here are mostly infill — back lots, subdivided sites and the occasional elevated lot with harbour views — rather than large new subdivisions. Much of the land is close to the water, so coastal-hazard and flood overlays are worth reading on every listing, along with any airport-related controls near the runway.
