Kauri is a rural-residential locality just north of Kamo, on and around State Highway 1 between Whangārei and Hikurangi, roughly 15 minutes from the CBD. It suits buyers who want more land than a city section while keeping Kamo's shops and schools close by. Inventory is mostly lifestyle and rural-residential lots, including newer subdivision stages, rather than small town sections. Outside the city's reticulated network many sites rely on tank water and on-site wastewater, so the services, slope and access data on each listing matter more here than in town.
