Kamo is Whangārei's main northern suburb, about 10 minutes north of the CBD. It has its own village centre with shops, cafés and services, and a full set of schools from primary through to Kamo High School, which makes it one of the city's most practical bases for families. Kamo West, on the slopes towards the Pukenui Forest, is included on this page. Section supply is mostly residential infill and smaller subdivisions within the established suburb, with larger lots on the fringes heading north towards Kauri.
